Steven J. Bolia

Steve Bolia is a Vietnam-born writer who grew up across Japan and Korea before settling in the United States. He holds an MFA in Playwriting/Screenwriting from the University of Southern California. His work spans stage and screen, with plays produced in New York and Los Angeles, and a background in stand-up comedy that informs his sharp character voice and timing. His screenplays have earned multiple accolades and industry recognition, with several projects optioned. As a multicultural gay storyteller, Bolia is drawn to outsider narratives-exploring identity, belonging, and psychological fracture through emotionally grounded, genre-driven stories.
