Troy got his first taste of acting in a Purdue University production of "To Kill a Mockingbird," playing the reclusive Boo Radley.
He moved to Los Angeles where he studied acting for several years at Playhouse West directly under Robert Carnegie (Founded by Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum). During his time in Los Angeles he had the chance to work directly on stage, film/TV, and in class with many great actors and directors.
Troy was cast as the lead in one of Matt Duffer's early short films Abraham's Boys (2009), before there was Stranger Things.
Troy was a Fan Favorite Unsub on Criminal Minds Awake (2015), who deserved another episode. Maybe they will still find the Skull Tattoo Man someday? He was also a lead character in a horror film called, The Blackout Experiment (2021).
He also played a large supporting role in the indie film, Goin' Around (2022), released on Amazon Prime Rental and Tubi in late 2024, which is a film in the style of Cassavetes and realism.
Troy now calls Atlanta and the Southeast home.
