Jefferson Thomas was born on September 19, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. He was married to Mary Branch and Fatima Thomas. He died on September 5, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

One of nine black students who volunteered to integrate the all-white Little Rock Central High School (Little Rock, AR) in 1957.

One of the "Little Rock Nine", a group of black students who, in 1957 integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered federal troops to the city to enforce an order to integrate the school.
