Christopher C.F. Chow

Biography

Christopher C.F. Chow

Mini bio

  • Growing up Christopher had a staple diet of films and television, so in hindsight it's no surprise that he ended up in this industry. During school holidays, he would rent dozens of VHS and soaked up as many films as his mum could afford, and only once in a blue moon they could find time to go to the cinema together. After university, he went to film school to pursue screenwriting but instead he discovered his love for editing which married his passion for science and storytelling.

His proudest work to date is his latest feature film Raging Grace, written and directed by BIFA nominee Paris Zarcilla. It premiered at SXSW and became the first British film ever to win the Grand Jury Award as well as Best Debut. It was also nominated for two BIFA. When it was screened at London's infamous Fright Fest, it received a standing ovation from the audience which was the third standing ovation ever in Fright Fest 23 years' history.

His television credits include: BBC's Casualty, which was nominated for a TV BAFTA; Sky Original Little Darlings, co-written by BAFTA nominee Nathan Bryon and it was nominated for a Broadcast Award; 14 episodes of BBC's Bad Education produced by Jack Whitehall; Comedy Central sketch show East Mode with Nigel Ng.

Beyond editing, Christopher is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in the industry. He founded BEAM Network which aims to connect and support British East and South East Asians working in media. As well as being a member of BAFTA, Christopher is also a member of British Film Editors, and he was nominated for Breakthrough Editor Award.
