Marcus was born in Yorkshire, England and presently lives in Seattle. Marcus began a theatre directing career staging numerous plays at London Fringe Theatre venues, before directing plays in larger UK Repertory Theatres, as well as directing opera in Italy. Through his love for theatre he discovered his passion for writing drama, and he began by adapting classical novels for the stage, which have been performed in England and the US. Later, through writing short film scripts, he earned the opportunity to write scripts for BBC TV's 'Doctors' and 'EastEnders,' which he did for many years.
In the US he has worked in unscripted TV as a Story Producer and Field Producer on shows for companies such as A&E and Discovery Channel, as well as continuing to direct theatre from time to time.
A perfect illustration of his love for both scripted and unscripted media is that at present he is shopping around a TV pilot script set in the Elizabethan age and is also working on a documentary.
