Joseph Krings, ACE, is an Emmy-nominated editor whose work spans acclaimed features, television, and documentaries.
Joseph edited "Captain Fantastic" which won Best Director for Matt Ross at the Cannes Film Festival and whose star, Viggo Mortensen, earned an Academy Award nomination. He is Emmy-nominated for his work on the Netflix limited series "Death by Lightning", produced by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss and starring Michael Shannon and Matthew McFaddyen.
He also edited "Supermensch", directed by Mike Myers, which won Best Documentary at the Hollywood Film Awards and was nominated for an Emmy.
Joseph was awarded the Boccalino D’Oro for Best Editing for his work on "Rosemead" at the Locarno Film Festival in 2025. Critic Richard Brody praised his work on "Winner", calling it "one of the best edited films of the year (2024)."
Krings was named the 2013 Sally Menke Memorial Editing Fellow by the Sundance Institute. Originally from Nebraska, he lives in Brooklyn.
