- Actress
Carla Fisher is a dynamic multi-hyphenate talent with over two decades of experience captivating audiences as an Actress, TV host, Motivational speaker, and Model. Standing at 5 feet 9 inches, Carla's charisma, versatility, and poise have fueled a career spanning television, film, fashion, and live broadcasting.
A native of Evanston, Illinois, Carla discovered her passion for performance early on-singing and acting in school plays, talent shows, and local theater. After graduating as valedictorian and entering college at just 16, she was discovered by a talent scout from the Ford Robert Black Agency while shopping at a mall in Arizona. Soon after signing, she landed her first major international print campaign with Adidas Sportswear.
Her modeling career quickly gained momentum, culminating in an audition for the renowned Ebony Fashion Fair Tour in Chicago. In a twist of fate, iconic publisher Eunice Johnson overheard Carla's distinctively raspy voice in the lobby and immediately hand-selected her as the tour's youngest Commentator-an exceptionally rare and prestigious honor. The nearly year-long tour spanned the United States, Canada, and the Virgin Islands, giving Carla invaluable experience on an international stage. Under Mrs. Johnson's mentorship, she honed her talents in narration, interviewing, public speaking, and writing-skills that laid a strong foundation for her future in media. Today, Carla proudly represents the FLAIR Alumni of Ebony's fashion legacy, remaining deeply connected to the historic Johnson Publishing Company.
Following the tour, Carla signed with Top agencies including Ford, Elite, LA Models, Osbrink LA, Click, and Formation Talent Agency, launching a global career in print and runway. She worked with legendary designers such as Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Escada, and Tommy Hilfiger, traveling to major fashion capitals and appearing in global campaigns, catalogs, and commercials for elite brands.
On-screen, Carla has made numerous television appearances, including Listen Up with Charles Barkley, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Tyra Banks Show, where she formed close bonds with the late Emmy-winning makeup artist Reggie Wells and celebrated hairstylist Charles Gregory. Both men, legends in their own right, served as early mentors and profoundly influenced Carla's journey. Their creativity, wisdom, and legacy remain a source of continued inspiration in her life and career.
As a TV host, Carla has worked with major networks including MTV, HGTV, The Weather Channel, The Home Shopping Network, and Sister Circle. She began her sports broadcasting career as an emcee and field reporter for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, later becoming an in-stadium announcer for the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. She hosted the pregame show Clippers Tonight and the NBAE Celebrity Charity Games, interviewing and engaging with stars like Justin Timberlake, Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Morris Chestnut, Ashton Kutcher, and Snoop Dogg, among others.
Carla's film and television credits include roles in Clint Eastwood's Trouble with the Curve, Melissa McCarthy's The Boss, Lee Daniels' Our Kind of People, Lifetime's The Anna Nicole Story, and the animated series Chuggington, where she voices the character Mayor Pullman for Disney Junior.
Most recently, Carla stars as Leslie Fletcher in Both Eyes Open from Rod Father Productions alongside Gail Bean and Taye Diggs. She will also appear in Netflix's upcoming thriller His & Hers, with Tessa Thompson, Pablo Schreiber, and Jon Bernthal.
Outside of her screen work, Carla is deeply committed to empowering others. She's a motivational speaker, media coach, and founder of programs that focus on confidence-building and self-presentation. With plans to soon add "bestselling author" to her résumé, she is equally passionate about storytelling behind the camera.
