His father is a Quechua-Huachipaeri, an Indigenous South American from Madre de Dios, Peru. His mother Saskia is a Swiss national who grew up in Alaska.

Younger brother of actress Q'orianka Kilcher and Kainoa Kilcher.

First cousin once removed of Jewel.
