Biography

Jon Lonoff

Overview

  • Birth name
    Jonathan Michael Lonoff

Mini bio

  • Jon Lonoff returned to performing full-time three years ago, and has since appeared Off-Broadway in "Fringe Deaths" at St. Luke's Theatre and in several well-reviewed roles in New York at the Metropolitan Playhouse. He performed in a musical workshop and a number of festival films. And, of course, he participated in a slew of Zoom readings during the recent pandemic. Most recently he appeared in major roles in three independent films and onstage in "The Cherry Orchard" and in "Two Noble Kinsman," a rarely performed play by William Shakespeare.

Jon joined Equity in an Off-Broadway show, "Wonderful Lives," while still in school getting an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts. Soon after graduation, he toured in "They're Playing Our Song," "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Lord Loves Music" and in a variety of regional and stock productions.

Then, during a long-run as an IT specialist at financial services organizations, he wrote "Skin Deep" a romantic comedy published by Concord Theatricals and produced all over the world - he also wrote short comedy films, screenplays for industrials, patter for club acts. And he kept performing in countless workshops, showcases and concert readings in NYC - plus the occasional appearance on NY-based TV shows such as "The Sopranos." During this period he was active with an independent theater company, The Workshop Theater, and served on the board of the Theatre World Awards. Jon has a BA in English Literature from Middlebury College and an MFA in Acting from New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
