Sound designer, sound supervisor and re-recording mixer with over 20 years of experience in international film and television. He began his career early participating in his first feature film at the age of 21, and by 23, was already working at Skywalker Ranch alongside Sean Penn on Into the Wild. Known for a creative and technically refined approach to audio post-production, Arturo has collaborated on award-winning projects across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.
He has worked with some of the most internationally recognized Latin American directors, such as Alejandro González Iñárritu, bringing narrative depth and emotional resonance through sound. After developing a solid career on the global stage, he made the decision to establish himself in Mexico, where he has become one of the most respected and sought-after sound designers in the industry.
Arturo’s portfolio spans a broad diversity of genres and formats, including thrillers, comedy, drama, horror, independent cinema, and acclaimed documentaries. He is also recognized for his work on some of the highest-grossing films in Mexico and several of the most globally streamed Latin American series.
In addition to his creative work, Arturo founded ZA Sound Design, a label through which he has consolidated a unique methodology and creative style shaped by his extensive professional experience. Beyond serving as a platform for high-level sound work, ZA Sound Design is also committed to fostering and mentoring emerging young talent in the industry.
Arturo is deeply engaged in the future of the Latin American audiovisual industry, sharing knowledge through masterclasses, workshops, and social media, where he actively supports and inspires new generations of sound professionals.
