He is of English and Greek descent.

The most significant inspiration in his life has been the film The Company Men, starring Ben Affleck. However, Marlon Brando has served as his true mentor-through Brando's trans-formative contributions to the film industry-and remains his greatest motivation for growth as an actor. Brando revolutionized the craft of acting, laying the foundation for Manos and countless other professionals. He brought a level of realism to the screen that was unprecedented, guided in his early development by the remarkable Stella Adler.

Although Manos initially began his career strictly adhering to the Meisner Technique, after several years he was drawn to the philosophy and teachings of Stella Adler. This pivotal shift led him to distance himself from Meisner's method, as he came to believe that true acting cannot exist when one is consciously aware of performing. In his own words: "You are either a hypocrite or an entertainer who lives the moment-not in the moment." This quote encapsulates Manos Krystalis' deeply rooted belief in authenticity and presence as the core of the actor's craft.

He grew up in Zurich, Switzerland, where his multicultural background and exposure to diverse artistic influences helped shape his perspective and deepen his appreciation for performance art.

In 2009, he was ranked #3 on The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Famous Runway Models from Europe, earning recognition as one of the best runway models in the industry.

During his school years in Los Angeles, he was compelled to learn Standard American English in order to overcome a thick accent that often led to the perception that he was mispronouncing words.
