Rick Brinkley is probably the first and only talk show producer to leave a major show in order to enter into seminary. He left Sally Jessy Raphael to attend Oral Roberts University Seminary where he obtained a degree in Christian Counseling from the school of Theology. He pastored the Collinsville Community Church for ten years in Collinsville, Oklahoma, a rural Oklahoma community. He is now a motivational speaker.

Served in the Oklahoma State Senate where he served as Majority Whip and Assistant Majority Floor Leader.
