Biography

Derek Howard is an award winning director of photography, director, and editor whose collaborations have screened at Venice, TIFF, Sundance, Telluride, Berlinale, Tribeca, SXSW, IDFA, True/False, HotDocs, NYFF, DOCNYC, and many others. He has participated in the Apichatpong Weerasethakul: Filming in the Amazon Lab, Berlinale Talents, IDFA summer school, IDFA Academy, and the Reykjavik Trans Atlantic Lab. Films he has shot have been nominated for Oscar, Emmy, Peabody, and Cinema Eye Honor awards. Derek is based in New York City.
