Biography

Marc was born in South Boston, MA. December 13th, 1965 to Dave and Rita Mahoney. He moved to and was raised in Canton, MA.. Marc's mother still lives in Canton and his father passed December 7th, 1999. Marc has two brothers, David and Scott and one sister, Karen. Marc now resides in Los Angeles, CA. with his wife Shelley and their two boys, Ryder and Drake. Marc left college in his senior year when he decided he wanted to be an actor. He started modeling and doing commercial work. After some success he decided to go to New York, where he received a BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Marc also studied at NYU's Film and Television Studio. Marc studied at Circle in the Square Theatre and at Playwrights Horizons, as well. Marc had the opportunity to study and work in Moscow at the Maly Theatre. Marc moved to Los Angeles in 1992 and in 1996 met and married the love of his life Shelley Scott. He has been working as an actor for over twenty five years but is also an accomplished acting coach. He has worked with actors at all levels from A-list, Tobey Maguire, Leonardo Dicaprio, Danny Nucci, Patrick Fischler,Sara Gilbert and many others, to beginners. Marc's training is Stanislavsky based with Strassberg, Meisner and Adler thrown in. He works with sense memory and imagination. He feels acting is simple, as life should be, it is "talking and listening and reacting truthfully in the moment." Marc has come and gone from acting over the years to work in other fields. He has been a successful real estate investor, with multiple homes being featured in film and television to working in Treatment for drug and alcohol addiction with dual diagnosis. Marc is working at Malibu Films and is also Director of Operations for SOBA Recovery Center in Malibu. Marc is so grateful to his friends and family and is excited to see what life has to offer next.
