Jaki Covington is a documentary editor and filmmaker. Most recently Jaki edited Taurasi, a three-part documentary series offering an intimate portrait of basketball legend Diana Taurasi. Featuring candid reflections and rare access, it captures her grit, wit, and defiance as she redefined women's basketball on her own terms. She edited the four-part documentary series Let Us Prey that premiered on HBO Max about the abuse inside the Fundamental Baptist Church across the country.
Jaki finds great joy working on projects with an important message; a highlight for her was co-editing the award-winning documentary Being Michelle, about a deaf and disabled woman who survived incarceration under unimaginable circumstances.
She has had the pleasure of learning from and collaborating with Emmy Award-winning editors Inbal Lessner and Mohammed El Manasterly. Jaki is a Karen Schmeer Editing Fellow as well as an alum of the Sundance Documentary Edit Lab.
