Was hired by Police Chief Les Varney to work at the Elkhorn City Police Dept. in 2000. At first meeting with Chief Varney, Gooslin commented,"You look like that actor Jim Varney." Les turned out to be a cousin of Jim.

Has been a trained Police Officer in Kentucky since 1997.

At age 14, he started working in radio at WHJC/WVKM in Matewan, West Virginia. He worked in radio until his 21st birthday and then became a sworn Police Officer, and attended the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky.
