Biography

Jerry Colangelo was born on November 20, 1939 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, USA. He is an actor, known for Arli$$ (1996), The World of Five-Star (2021) and The Redeem Team (2022). He has been married to Joan Helmich since January 20, 1961. They have four children.

Former managing general partner of the NBA's Phoenix Suns, and former managing general partner of MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks. Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004.

Chairman of USA Basketball.

Invited Jeff Hornacek to a Phoenix Suns pre-draft try out at the request of Bobby Knight, who had been contacted by Hornacek's father. Colangelo took Hornacek 46th overall in the 1986 NBA draft.
