Biography

Jeremy Brennan

Mini bio

  • Jeremy Brennan is an actor, composer and award-winning creative producer and music director.

Born in New Zealand to a musical pedigree, at the age of 11 he composed a full-length operetta for his school production and by 14 had performed in Japan, Australia and at the USA.

Aged 17 Jeremy's first professional acting role was playing Romeo in Michael Hurst's acclaimed adaption of Romeo & Juliet (New Zealand's longest running Shakespeare production at that time). After a guest role in the hospital soap Shortland Street and a 9month tour of the musical The Buddy Holly Story, Jeremy relocated to Sydney to further his acting studies at Australia's prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

Jeremy Brennan's feature film appearances include Bitter & Twisted (2008), Tough Crowd (2006) and The Holy Roller (2010). He is also a pianist, songwriter and musical director regularly appearing on Australian television and the international cabaret circuit.

In 2019 Jeremy was featured as the resident songsmith on Channel 10's prime time series 'Show Me The Movie' hosted by comedy icon Rove McManus. His musical rocketry was featured in the weekly segment 'La La La Land' with his original songs cleverly hinting at the plot outlines of iconic movies.

Other soundtrack and composition credits include: Lavalife (TVC), Dying City (Gaiety Theatre), A Winter's Tale (NIDA), Cloud Nine (SiLO Theatre) and numerous short films.

In 2007 Jeremy was a recipient of the Mike Walsh travel fellowship for music research, and the following year won the inaugural Nordoff Robbins songwriting competition.
