Lynn Conway(1938-2024)
She did pioneering research in microelectronics chip design, and is a professor emerita of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Michigan. She is also a transgender activist.
She earned a B.S. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Columbia University. She began her career at IBM, and later worked at Memorex Corporation, the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and the Defense Advanced Research Project's Agency (DARPA).
