- U.S. District Judge shot by Charles Harrelson for Jimmy Chagra, who was to appear in his court. Harrelson claimed that he did not kill Wood, but merely took credit for it so he could score a huge pay out from Chagra. Chagra supposedly told a friend he had someone else, and not Harrelson, kill Wood. The federal courthouse in San Antonio and a middle school is named for Wood.
