Stephanie Sikes performs in films, on stage, and on television. A
classically-trained lyric soprano, she has been singing since she was
five, in a variety of genres, including musical theater, jazz, blues,
inspirational, classical, and opera.
Stephanie has performed in over forty stage productions, including lead roles in A Tucson Pastorela, Ruthless!, Falsettoland, Trouble in Tahiti, Oklahoma, Susannah, My Fair Lady, and La Traviata. Her stage performances have been with professional companies such as Borderlands Theatre, Arizona Opera, Arizona Onstage Productions, and Opera Omaha.
In 2005, she returned to on-camera work and, since then, has found frequent work in films and television. She also is in demand for radio voice-over jobs.
Stephanie grew up in Leonardville, Kansas and moved to Tucson, Arizona during high school. She returned to Kansas to complete college and her masters degree. After living throughout the Midwest, she again settled in Tucson in the mid-90s.
Her father is a bank president and formerly owned the general store in their home town, which was started by his father and remained in business for almost a century. Her mother, also on the board of the bank, is an O. Henry Award-winning writer and has written two novels, in addition to dozens of published short stories, essays, and articles. She received five listings from Best American Short Stories (including one on their Roll of Honor), and a listing from the Pushcart Press as "One of 100 Outstanding Writers in the U.S."
In addition to acting training with prominent Arizona instructors, such as Gay Gilbert, Stephanie received Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Musical Theatre/Communication from Kansas State University. She taught Communication and Theatre classes at the university level for twelve years and was a speech and debate coach for a nationally-honored university program. She is the founder of her voice and communication studio, Vocal Velocity. Furthermore, she will complete a Masters degree in Counseling in 2007.
Stephanie has sung with Sofistication, a contemporary voice and guitar duo that has released an inspirational CD and a jazz standard sampler. She is also a proficient drummer.
