Fanny Singer was born on August 15, 1983 in Berkeley, California, USA.

Graduated from Yale University in 2005 with a degree in fine arts.

Daughter of chef Alice Waters.

Often contributes her own recipes to Food & Wine magazine.

Named after Fanny, a main character in Marcel Pagnol's film trilogy, Marius (1931), Fanny (1932), and César (1936).
