  • Joel Maximilian Breton is an international video game producer and game designer who has produced several award winning video games, including Bomberman Live, Unreal, Duke Nukem, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Breton began his video game career at Sega of America in 1994 where he worked on a string of classic SEGA games, including Sonic and Knuckles, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racer, Daytona USA, Batman and Robin, and X Men 2.

    Joel then began producing games for GT Interactive/Atari where he produced a string of hit games, including Duke Nukem, Blood II, Unreal, No One Lives Forever, Anno 1602, Deer Hunter, Baseball Mogul, & Ultimate Doom.

    In 2001, Breton moved to Moscow, Russia, and founded the Eastern division of Bethesda Softworks, a U.S. based game publishing company. While stationed in Moscow, Joel was responsible for producing Pirates of the Caribbean on the Xbox, which was the first U.S. published console game developed in Russia.

    Breton later moved back to California and began producing games for Take Two Interactive. While at Take Two, Joel produced World Poker Tour on PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, and Game Boy Advance platforms. He also produced the Xbox 360 launch title, Amped 3 snowboarding. While at take Two Interactive, Breton also produced their exclusive Major League Baseball game for multiple platforms.

    Joel was then hired as a Senior Producer by Hudson Entertainment.While at Hudson, he produced Bomberman Live for Xbox 360 and Bomberman Ultra for PlayStation 3. Bomberman Live won awards from Microsoft for "Game of the Year" and "Multiplayer Game of the Year" at Game Developer's Conference in 2007.

    In 2007, Breton joined MTV Networks as Director of Content for AddictingGames - MTV Network's largest website and the largest game website in the U.S. market. As head of content and game development for AddictingGames, Joel created a sting of hit game franchises that have been played more than a billion times across the web.
