Biography

Xavier Amador was born on November 2, 1959 in the USA. He is a producer, known for Inside (2007), Undercover History (1997) and The Baby Borrowers (2008).

An adjunct professor in Clinical Psychology at Teacher's College, Columbia University.

Dr. Amador was the first therapist to allow TV cameras to film real unscripted private therapy sessions, on the TV show "Bethenny Getting Married?" His contract called for final approval over all edits, a highly unusual contract stipulation but one that was necessary to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Dr. Amador is the owner and CEO of Amador & Associates, a company that does psychological screening of reality show contestants during the casting process, to ensure that potential participants can handle the immense pressures that come with suddenly being a media personality. He employs a network of psychologists who have worked on such shows as Undercover Boss, Wife Swap, Marriage Ref, and others.
