  • Dominic Howes is an Emmy Award winning director with a passion for stories that explore the beauty of human resilience. Mr Howes was born in Philadephia and raised on hippie commune in rural Virginia, later moving to northern California. From his adventures as a gold miner in the Alaskan wilderness to his study of Indian Classical music in New Delhi, he followed an unusual path to filmmaking. His credits include stories that span the globe. The award winning 2008 documentary feature, The Listening Project was filmed in 14 countries including Afghanistan, Russia and China. It looked at the cultural, economic and military impact of the United States around the planet. In 2015, he produced, A Thousand Years of Joy a documentary biopic about National Book Award winning poet, essayist and activist, Robert Bly. Mr Howes's film, Nighthawks won the audience award for narrative short film at the 2020 Minneapolis St Paul International Film Festival. Most recently, he co-produced the 2024 narrative feature, Brooklyn Minnesota.
