Biography

Angelita Esperanza is an actor, director, and producer working between Los Angeles and New York City. She has worked on major network series including Tommy and Instinct (CBS), Quantico (ABC), and Crossbones (NBC), with acclaimed talent such as Edie Falco, John Malkovich, Claire Foy, Alan Cumming, Blair Underwood, Christian Slater, and Rufus Sewell. Her recent on-camera credits include Criminal Minds (CBS) and New Amsterdam (NBC).

As a producer, Angelita earned festival recognition for the short film Grind, starring Anthony Rapp, with selections from FilmOut San Diego, the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival, NYC Downtown Short Film Festival, and SENE Film, Music & Art Festival. She also received Best Supporting Actor nominations from the Brightside Tavern Short Film Festival and Hang Onto Your Shorts for her performance in The Pleasure of Being Served.

Her directing work includes productions with The Virago Ensemble, where she helmed a staged reading of Jane Chambers’ Last Summer at Bluefish Cove and directed Serena Cates’ Kiss That Frog, in which she also performed. In New York, she conceived, produced, and performed two solo cabaret shows, Dare and No Apologies, at The Duplex, one of the city’s most historic cabaret venues. No Apologies received critical praise from Cabaret Scenes.

She completed Shakespeare training at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, performing the roles of Quince, Egeus, and Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also trained at Circle in the Square Theatre School and holds a BA in Television Production from Loyola Marymount University. She continues to train across disciplines while working as a producer and actor in television and film.
