- Selected 29th overall in the 1998 NHL draft by the San Jose Sharks. Member of the Moose Cree Indian tribe.
- Traded with Milan Michalek to the Ottawa Senators for Dany Heatley, and a second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NHL draft.
- He scored an NHL-leading 56 goals for the San Jose Sharks in the 2005-06 season, and was awarded the Rocket Richard Trophy. His nine hat tricks are the most in franchise history (as of 2018).
