- Amir Ghavidel was a writer and a pioneer filmmaker in Iranian cinema. He started his artistic life in the field of theater at a young age in Mashad before moving to Tehran to officially begin his writing and filmmaking career. Ghavidel made ten feature films during his professional life and branded himself as a technical filmmaker with movies about Iran's post-revolution social and political concerns.
