- Dario Simic was born on November 12, 1975 in Zagreb, Croatia.
- A member of the Croatian national soccer team between 1996 and 2008, he participated in three FIFA World Cup finals and three UEFA European Championship finals, winning the bronze medal at the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals in France. In August 2008, he became the first Croatian soccer player to win 100 international caps.
- A professional soccer defender, he has previously played for Dinamo Zagreb, Inter Milan and AC Milan, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 2003 and 2007. Since August 2008, he is playing for AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1.
