A member of the Croatian national soccer team between 1996 and 2008, he
participated in three FIFA World Cup finals and three UEFA European
Championship finals, winning the bronze medal at the 1998 FIFA World
Cup finals in France. In August 2008, he became the first Croatian
soccer player to win 100 international caps.
