- Grew up in Chicago Illinois as a young boy afterwards moved with his family to Los Angeles California where he has lived most of his life and has also lived in New York City.
- He trained, taught, demonstrated and competed in martial arts in his teens. Later continued teaching and coaching during different periods in his twenties. One of his principle instructors, coaches, and mentors was Phillip Rhee of Best of the Best.
