Slim Khezri

Slim Khezri is an award-winning German-American artist whose career defies easy categorization. A multi talented singer, songwriter, musician, music composer, author, record and film producer, editor, director, actor, and businessman, Khezri has built a life in the arts that stretches across continents, disciplines, and decades. His work spans film, television, theatre, opera, ballet, voiceover, motion-capture, and music - a reflection of his restless creativity and refusal to be confined to a single lane.

Born on July 18, 1972, in Lübeck Hansestadt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, to a Tunisian-Mediterranean family, Khezri is the eldest of three children. Today he is based in Los Angeles, California with his wife, stage performer and award-winning pole artist Phoenix Kazree, and their son. Through his mother, he is also a cousin to the acclaimed Swedish novelist and playwright Jonas Hassen Khemiri and actor Hamadi Khemiri.

His story first reached the public eye in 1991, when he gained fame as a Michael Jackson impersonator on the hit German television program "Die Rudi Carrell Show - Lass Dich überraschen." The episode became a phenomenon, drawing over 20.5 million viewers across Europe and cementing Khezri's reputation as one of the few artists to master Jackson's grooves and gravity-defying moves. For more than a decade, he toured the globe with his celebrated tribute live show, performing nearly a thousand times in over 70 countries, captivating audiences across the globe. By the time he moonwalked for the last time in 2000 at the German Bowl XXII Halftime Show, he had already caught the attention of Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, and ultimately Michael Jackson himself, which led to working and touring with the King of Pop. Soon after, Khezri moved to the United States, where he expanded into writing, producing, directing, acting, and collaborating across film, music, and theatre.

As an actor, Khezri's credits range from leading and character roles to supporting and featured appearances. Performing under names such as Slim K, Kaz'ree, or Slimkhezri, he has launched projects including Delta Machine, The Doubajen Project, and Minor Earth Major Sky. His philanthropic work includes support for Amnesty International, Save the Children, Feeding America, Thorn (formerly DNA Foundation, with Ashton Kutcher), Dell's recycling program, Mazon: This Is Hunger, and other organizations. In addition, he is a licensed caregiver and wedding officiant in California.

A true bon vivant, Khezri embraces life as a self-proclaimed gourmet and connoisseur of cheese, wine, and coffee, as well as a Kunstliebhaber (lover of art), fashion enthusiast, collector of classic action figures, and aficionado of golden-age cinema and vintage cartoons.

Khezri is a polyglot, educated in Germany and Tunisia, speaks five languages - English, German, French, Arabic, and conversational Turkish - and continues to explore culture, history, politics, and society with the same curiosity that fuels his creative work.

Through it all, Slim Khezri has remained an artist defined not by boundaries, but by breadth: a global performer whose career continues to cross borders and disciplines, always evolving, always engaged with the world around him. Khezri has also successfully worked on many musical and conceptual arts related side projects, including many fashion shows in Europe, and multiple art gallery events in Los Angeles, for which he produced short-documentary features for various European channels, including VernissageTV in Switzerland.
