Biography

  • Niall Trask found success as a teenage music-video director, quickly establishing a reputation for bold, inventive work before joining the ranks of Riff Raff Films, one of the world’s most respected and creatively driven production companies.

His work has been nominated for three MVAs and has earned a Cresta Award alongside the highly prestigious D&AD Pencil; an honour rarely awarded to micro-budget music videos; recognising his ability to fuse surreal comedy with moments of genuine tragedy.

Niall has worked with artists including Fat White Family, Warren (Meatraffle), and Rory Stewart. His work has been publicly praised by Iggy Pop, Bill Nighy, and The Guardian, while Vice Magazine described his output as "the weirdest s*** that’s appeared in our inbox."

Alongside directing, Niall has supplemented his career with an eclectic mix of roles, including art department work, touring as a VJ, editing, and even serving as Eddie Redmayne’s stand-in on the production of Les Misérables.

Since 2023, he has been working on a feature-length documentary about controversial artist Ariel Pink and is developing a television series.

He lives with his wife in Brixton, South London.
