Biography

A graduate of Norman Jewison's prestigious Director's Lab at the CFC, Mark's work has been showcased on PBS, HBO, Amazon and VICE. As a writer/director his segments for Sesame Street were featured on their 47th and 48th seasons as well as their 2017 Christmas Special. As a writer for television he worked on the Amazon Studios show Dino Dana, in addition to writing and directing short films that have screened internationally (including Fantasia, Comic-Con, Giffoni, Austin, Sedona, and Telefilm Canada's 'Not Short on Talent' program at the Cannes Film Festival). Mark is also an award-winning editor/producer whose feature documentary work earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination (Canadian Emmy's) and has been broadcast by ARTE, the CBC, Super Channel, Knowledge Network and VICE.

Canadian filmmakers Nimisha Mukerji and Mark Ratzlaff made up the entire crew during their shoot in India on the award-winning documentary Blood Relative. Nimisha directed, produced and wrote, while Mark shot, edited and co-produced (without the use of a boom, sound was a team effort).
