Originally from Derbyshire, England, and raised in New Zealand, Jak served as an aircraft engineer in the New Zealand Military before turning to acting. His screen work spans international film and television, including Shortland Street (Detective Inspector Derek Foster), A Place to Call Home, Alien Arrival, and The 25th Reich. He continues to expand his craft through the Margie Haber Studio (LA), and ongoing on-camera training. Jak brings authenticity, authority, and subtle intensity to every role - from commanding officers to conflicted men in extraordinary situations. When not on set, Jak advocates for animal welfare and environmental sustainability and keeps active with martial arts, hiking, and fitness training.
