- Laura Slade Wiggins began acting in local community theater in Georgia and later took acting classes in Atlanta, where she was signed by a talent agent. After moving to Los Angeles, Wiggins gained wider recognition for her series regular role as the troubled teenager Karen Jackson on the Showtime comedy-drama Shameless (2011), appearing on the series from 2011 to 2013. Her television work also includes a guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and a recurring role as Irene Quinn on the science fiction series The Tomorrow People (2013). In film, Wiggins has appeared in 20th Century Women (2016), Rings (2017), Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019), Stand! (2019), American Deadbolt (2025), and Go On (2026).
