Kate Chappell was born on December 19, 1985 in Rye, New York, USA. She is known for Divergent (2014), Godzilla (2014) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). She died on June 1, 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Katherine Chappell, 29, was in South Africa on a volunteer mission to help protect wildlife on June 1st 2015 when a lion attacked her through an open window of the vehicle she was traveling in. Ms Chappell wound down her window to take a photo of a lion which was only a meter away when it lunged at the editor and fatally bit her.

She was the sister of Lauren Chappell.

She was the daughter of Jonathan Chappell and his wife Mary Elaine Chappell.
