Rabab Haj Yahya (She/Her) is an award-winning Palestinian-American documentary filmmaker and editor based in New York. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and her latest feature, Coexistence, My Ass!, won the Special Grand Jury Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.
Rabab is best known for her work on acclaimed documentaries, including The Feeling of Being Watched (Tribeca, 2018 - POV, 2019), for which she received the Best Editing Award at the Woodstock Film Festival (2018), and the Critics' Choice-nominated Speed Sisters (Hot Docs, 2015 - Netflix). Her recent credits include the Emmy-nominated Another Body (SXSW 2023 Special Jury Award for Innovation in Storytelling), HBO's The Legend of the Underground (Tribeca, 2021 - HBO Max), and the Emmy-nominated Apart (Hot Docs, 2021).
A dedicated mentor and creative advisor, Rabab serves as a Sundance Institute Documentary Edit and Story Lab Advisor (2023) and has mentored for the Documentary Contributing Editor Fellowship (2024), Brown Girls Doc Mafia, Chicken & Egg Pictures, and the Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship (2022-2025).
