Biography

  • Melissa McCurley was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but now resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she produces her Youtube channel "Storytime for Kids." Her love for acting started early when she began recruiting family and neighbors to watch impromptu performances of Shirley Temple songs at the family's fireplace hearth. She participated in plays like Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, and Fiddler on the Roof at The Greenhill School in Dallas.

After high school, she traveled to Vanderbilt University where she completed her B.S. in Communications, graduating with honors. Next, she pursued a degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Dallas, graduating with the Best Portfolio Award. Never losing her love of acting, she performed with improv groups and sketch comedy troops at The Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas. For over ten years she studied the Meisner Acting Method at R.E.A.C.T. Actors Studio with acclaimed coach Michele Condrey.

Most recently she appeared as a zombie in Netflix's "Daybreak," "The Fantastic Four" (2015) as Sue Storm's Doctor, "Manhattan" (2014) as the Girl Scout Troop Leader, and "Breaking Bad" (2013) as Lydia's Secretary. She also produced the 2008 indie horror thriller "Fright Flick" directed by Israel Luna of "Ticked Off Trannies with Knives." She is the daughter of Divorce attorney Mike McCurley and retired insurance agent Jackie Curtis. She is a member of New Mexico Women In Film, SAG/AFTRA, and the Texas Motion Picture Association.

Melissa is an avid animal philanthropist, serving on the board of The Espanola Valley Humane Society and supporting Greyhound Rescue in Texas and New Mexico for over 20 years.
