Mini bio

  • Haley Bennett is an American actress, writer and producer whose work spans Hollywood studio films, independent cinema and international productions. She made her screen debut opposite Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore in Music and Lyrics before going on to collaborate with filmmakers including Antoine Fuqua, Terrence Malick, Ron Howard, Joe Wright, Gregg Araki, Warren Beatty, Shekhar Kapur and BAFTA-winning director Tina Gharavi. Her screen credits include The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven, Rules Don't Apply, The Girl on the Train, Thank You for Your Service, I, The Devil All the Time, Hillbilly Elegy, Till, Cyrano, Widow Clicquot and Night & Day, reflecting a career that moves between large-scale studio productions, filmmaker-led independent features and literary adaptations. In 2018, Bennett made her stage debut opposite Peter Dinklage in the new musical adaptation of Cyrano at the Terris Theatre, later reprising the role in Joe Wright's feature film adaptation. Bennett's first producing credit came with Carlo Mirabella-Davis' Swallow, in which she starred as Hunter Conrad. Her performance was critically acclaimed and marked a turning point in her career, establishing her as both a producer and a leading actress in contemporary independent cinema. She went on to portray the pioneering champagne entrepreneur Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin in Widow Clicquot before starring as aspiring astronomer Katharine Hilbery in the ensemble romantic comedy Night & Day, adapted from Virginia Woolf's novel by BAFTA-winning director Tina Gharavi. Her performance was widely praised by critics for its intelligence, warmth and emotional precision. She also stars as CIA operative Sidney Scofield in Apple TV+'s thriller series The Last Frontier. Bennett recently completed A Bobby Thing and will next lead the science fiction feature Synthetic, in which she plays Billie, an escaped artificial intelligence confronting questions of identity, memory and what it means to be human. Alongside acting, Bennett develops original projects as a writer and producer, with a particular interest in character-driven stories exploring identity, transformation and the tension between freedom
