  • Walter Maxfield Jones has a diverse professional history spanning from entertainment and sports to business development and entrepreneurship making him a prime example of a modern day "Renaissance Man." Mr. Jones is a host/comedian who honed his hosting, comedic and vocal talents as the host and founder of "Warm Wednesdays," the nation's, largest and longest running weekly open mic poetry/spoken word venue. He produced an Emmy nominated series, "Anacostia," and won Best Supporting Actor at the LA Web Series Festival for playing the villainous character, Michael Stevenson. Two of his films that he executive produced and starred were distributed worldwide can now be found on streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Tubi

    Mr. Jones is a seasoned boxing coach and aficionado with over 20 years of experience. He has trained several professional fighters and served as a sparring partner for several world champions. Mr. Jones now coaches out of Knockout Boxing Gym in Baltimore, MD and volunteers at the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. The lessons he learned in the gym and in the ring have been applicable to all aspects of his life and believes those lessons are an essential part of mental, spiritual and physical health. Mr. Jones is originally from Sacramento, CA and has been performing since he was a child. Singing, dancing and acting from the time he could walk, Walter gravitated to the stage winning numerous talent competitions and landing lead roles in movies, television, plays and musicals. He was an honors student and star athlete in high school earning him an Electrical Engineering scholarship to attend Morgan State University. He now resides in the District of Columbia and enjoys traveling, golf and tennis.
