Fidel Betancourt

Fidel Betancourt is a Spanish-based actor with more than two decades of experience in film, television and stage. He trained at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana and began his career in theatre before expanding into film and television productions across Spain and Latin America.
He gained international recognition for his leading role in the Cuban feature film Chamaco, directed by Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti, a performance that earned him the Adolfo Llauradó Award for Best Male Performance in Cuba. The film premiered internationally at the Miami Film Festival.
Throughout his career Betancourt has appeared in a wide range of film and television projects including Havana Blues directed by Benito Zambrano, Hasta el Cielo by Daniel Calparsoro, and television series such as Machos Alfa, Amar es para siempre and Servir y Proteger.
He is also part of the cast of Comandante Fritz, directed by Pavel Giroud, selected for the 43rd Miami Film Festival.
Alongside his screen work, Betancourt has maintained a strong presence in theatre, performing in productions such as Cyrano de Bergerac, Fuenteovejuna and works directed by Carlos Celdrán.
