  • Amanda Nemcik (San Juan, 1984-) was born in Puerto Rico where she became a child actor for local film productions and theater. She was producer and actor for Producciones Nómadas, a theater collective she co-founded as student of Drama at the UPR-Río Piedras. In 2014, Amanda earned a Magister degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Cinema and Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Católica Argentina, Buenos Aires. Her short "Copyleft... a challenge to copyrights in Argentina" was presented by her faculty in the Convención del Mercado de Industrias Culturales de Argentina 2012. In 2012 she produced and co-directed "Water" a short stop-motion animation (Special Mention: Cinefiesta 2012, Divercine 2013; Finalist Environmental Film Festival of San Juan 2012). In 2016 she produced, directed, and co-edited the feature documentary, "Luz en Latinoamérica", which has garnered several accolades and distinctions including: Best Documentary, International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival 2016, NYC; Best Documentary by the Jury and Best Documentary by the Audience in the Rincón International Film Festival 2016. In 2017 she directed the short documentary "Adriana Díaz, un águila en la montaña" on the Puerto Rican table tennis world champion. In 2019 she produced and co-directed the short stop-motion animation "Ecoloriza".
