Biography

For their work on Lost & Found: Legacy of USS Lagarto, Evan Kovacs, David Seman, Jim Choi and Jeff Sericati were nominated for the 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence Off Camera: Videography - Non News. Other notable series featuring Evan's work: Blue Planet 2, Aliens of the Deep with Bob Ballard, The Last B-24, Into the Arizona.

In 2010 Evan Kovacs founded Marine Imaging Technologies, LLC, headquartered in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he develops innovative ideas for sub-sea imaging systems and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). MITech has developed two new ROV classes: the Cinema Class ROV, designed specifically for sub-sea imaging, and the Spooler Class ROV, for penetration situations where the tether must be managed.

Summer of 2018, Evan Kovacs co-hosted Animal Planet's Monsters of The Abyss episode as part of the 2018 Monster Week. Evan and co-host Richie Kohler explored UB-85, a German U-Boat reportedly damaged by a sea monster. The episode was filmed over the summer of 2017 in the Irish Sea and premiered on May 29th on Animal Planet.

Through dive buddy connections, Evan Kovacs first foray into video was as an underwater lighting technician for The History Channel's Deep Sea Detectives, where he met John Chatterton and Richie Kohler.
