  • Gus Bernard was born in São Paulo, Brasil, in 1977. He is an arranger, composer, and classically trained pianist. He was a student of the renowned Brazilian pianist José Antonio Bezzan (Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest).

    Gus Bernard started his career as a keyboard player for the band Zomba, in which he performed along with some of the most notorious Brazilian pop artists such as Paula Lima, Max de Castro, Jair de Oliveira, Seu Jorge, Jorge Benjor, Thaíde, DJ Hum, Wilson Simoninha, Adriana Mezzadri and others. He also performed with legendary Eduardo Agni, the award winner guitar player known for the mixture of brazilian folk music and minimalist music.

    Gus has been working as a composer since 1999, creating music for TV, Film, Theater plays, and Ballets. He has won one international award for the soundtrack of "The Beach House" (Brazil, 2007, best sound track at the Festival Latino-Americano de Canoa Quebrada) has been nominated by the Portuguese Academy of Cinema for the soundtrack of the movie "Florbela" (Portugal, 2012, Prémio Sophia), as well as 3 more nominations for the Coca-Cola/Panamco Prize, one of the most prestigious prizes of Brazilian theater.

    Gus Bernard also owns a studio based in São Paulo, Brazil, in which he regularly scores themes for TV. Among his most notorious themes for TV is the opening theme for Brazil's Next Top Model (the Brazilian franchise of the famous american reality show) as well as the official IndyCar theme for Bandsports (the Brazilian TV sports Channel) a theme that is performed every time a Brazilian pilot wins a race.
