- Hailing from New York City, ASHLEY MENDOZA first began acting out her own stories at age five - which proved problematic for her kindergarten teacher. Years later, she followed her calling to write for children and got an MFA at Columbia University School of the Arts film program. Having grown up on her father's children's books which encouraged imagination, inclusion and kindness, this seemed to be a destined career path.
Over the last two decades, Ashley has written for many shows loved by children around the world, including: Dora the Explorer; Mickey Mouse Clubhouse; Jake and the Never Land Pirates; Zack and Quack; Henry Hugglemonster; Lana Longbeard; Ricky Zoom; Totally Spies!; Boy, Girl, Dog, Cat, Mouse, Cheese; Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and PJ Masks.
Most recently, Ashley developed an adorable upper-preschool show, Magicampers, for Disney Jr. She served as Executive Producer and Head Writer on the first season.
Now, when she’s not writing (and acting out) fun scripts for Mickey and his pals to have in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, she’s busy dreaming up new stories that will influence the next generation to be "problematic" for their kindergarten teachers.
