Streaming Stars, Then and Now

I grew up in the near north suburbs of Chicago, Half of me was a nerdy introvert and the other half, a popular party girl and performer. Still am a nerd. Still am a performer.

Until 2002, my money earning career was neuroscience research and teaching. In 1988 I moved towards science policy and management. Meanwhile, I often managed to study dance and violin/ viola, and to perform in school, college, and community theater productions and to play in a piano quartet and a chamber orchestra.

In Los Angeles, I did many student films, and then progressed to being cast in SAG/AFTRA projects and joining SAG/AFTRA. I was eventually represented by an excellent boutique agency. Thanks to their ethical, hard-working representation, I was able to learn so much by working with excellent directors and generous 'name' actors. I loved it.

My lifeline has not been a straight line, but I am so happy now to be here, looking for the work that I enjoy doing from here to the moon and back.

Claudia Blair still loves thinking about how the brain works, but enjoys people watching and acting more than research and teaching.

Claudia Blair has a Ph.D. from the University of Washington School of Medicine (Department of Physiology and Biophysics) and the Graduate School (Department of Psychology).

Claudia Blair is an expert knitter, and occasionally does custom work. On set, she is the one knitting between takes.

Won Best Actress Award at the Plomonda Independent Film Festival, 2010, for her portrayal of Elderly Claire in &quot;A Final Dance.&quot; (written and directed by Michael Collins).

Princess Pocahontas, Queen Nefertiti, and Trigger The Wonder Cat are the names of Claudia&#39;s cats. The females are large Maine Coon Cat mixes and the male is a small, short hair domestic mix. Sadly, as of 2021, all of them have died. Princess Pocahontas lived 22 adventure filled years. She was the best pal ever.
