Biography

Peter Van Steemburg hails from upstate New York and built his career in NYC after graduating from Williams College in 2003. He began working in film at the international distribution division of Miramax Films before joining the film finance department at Cinetic Media. Following this, he spent 7 years working in the Acquisitions department of Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing where is he was responsible identifying and negotiating the US rights for feature films from across the globe.

He located to Los Angeles in 2010 after deciding never to feel cold again. In 2015, Peter joined ICM Partners, in the role of Agent in the International Independent Department where he arranged financing and/or distribution for feature films until heading back to film distribution at Universal Pictures. He was most recently the Vice President of Acquisitions & Production at the Universal Pictures Content Group, where he was responsible for acquiring independently produced features for North America.
