- Sometimes my accent becomes a barrier when auditioning for certain film roles-whether lead or supporting. I don't hide the fact that I have an accent, but the challenge usually appears during auditions, when I have to deliver a monologue or do a cold reading. That's when casting directors immediately notice it. There have been moments when I lost opportunities because of it. But this is my voice, and whether people like it or not, it is part of who I am. I've learned to take pride in it. To be or not to be? For me, the answer is simple-let it be.

Lately, I've been confronted with that reality more often, and the roles I do land tend to cast me as a killer, mafia member, gangster, or terrorist. It feels like a label stamped on my forehead, as if I belong only to that category of characters. Hearing that repeatedly can be painful, even discouraging. I am grateful for any opportunity to work, but I don't want the negative roles I portray on screen to follow me forever. I hope that one day I will have the chance to step out of those stereotypes and play characters beyond the mafia and the villain. I want to show the full range of who I am as an actor.
