- Larry credits his early interest in writing to his dad, a wonderful wordsmith and storyteller who had an advertising company he aptly named Post 'n Tell. Larry went on to study and work in advertising himself. His love of movies led him to screenwriting, with a focus on family comedy and character-driven drama.
A battle with cancer in 2012 and a relapse in 2026 have made Larry more determined than ever to inspire others with his own story -- and in the stories he tells. Since 2020, Larry has had four original spec screenplays produced and released, including Sony's award-winning 5000 Blankets starring Anna Camp, Rob Mayes and Carson Minniear -- and the Netflix Family Original, The Main Event, starring Adam Pally, Tichina Arnold and Seth Carr. He also wrote the Peacock Original comedy, High Holiday, starring Tom Arnold, Jennifer Tilly, Shannyn Sossamon, Asif Ali and Cloris Leachman -- and the family sports drama, Flip Turn, starring Sheree Wilson, Evan Brinkman, and Donny Boaz, which won "Best Film" at six international film festivals in 2024.
A member of the Writers Guild of America West, Larry was recognized in 2020 as one of the top "25 Screenwriters to Watch" by the Austin Film Festival, where he also serves as an annual panelist.
Larry does volunteer work for several organizations, including the Lymphoma Research Foundation. He has mentored aspiring writers through Reel Works, the Brooklyn-based teen filmmaking program dedicated to mentoring, inspiring and empowering underserved NYC youth. He is also a part-time screenwriting instructor at the KD Conservatory in Dallas. His mantra is "Become a better person; become a better writer."
